Into The Emberlands by Tiny Roar presents players with a captivating journey through a beautifully crafted fantasy world, blending elements of exploration and strategy. The game features a visually stunning art style that immerses players in the mystical realm of the Emberlands.

Released in early access, Into the Emberlands is a slow-burn rogue-lite survival game. Home to the Knacks, The Emberlands are overwhelmed by the mysterious Miasma which has spread darkness like wildfire. Chosen as the newest Lightbearer, not because you’re the best choice but the ONLY choice, it’s your job to use your lantern to save those who have been lost in the veil of darkness.
Your lantern is the key to exploration. Fueled by light-bringing ember, it is the only thing keeping the Miasma at bay. But don’t venture too far, if you run out of ember, your light will fade and you will be engulfed by the darkness restarting your adventure.

Gameplay
Into the Emberlands encourages players to explore the vast and stunning world. Set out into the wilderness to collect not only lost Knacks, but resources. Traverse diverse environments searching for things such as rock or wood to help rebuild stores and homes. Each area is designed with secrets, helpful creatures, and interactive elements that reward exploration.
As you progress, NPCs will provide quests such as simple fetch tasks to story driven missions. Bringing back villagers and resources helps you stride towards rebuilding, learning more about the Miasma all while helping save the village. Finish your daily tasks and upgrade the giant ember candle in the middle of the village, regenerating the wilderness landscape, and starting a new day.

Central to the gameplay is strategy that requires players to use their wits and observation skills. Calculating your movements was the hardest part for me. It was nerve wracking watching my lantern dwindle hoping I would find some ember in the forest before I hit zero.
Early Access & Beyond
Into the Emberlands being in early access does mean there is still work to be done. The roadmap Tiny Roar has posted makes me excited for the future of this game. Discussions of additional lightbearers, and unlockable pets, with new resources, tools and encounters as well.

Tiny Roar has shown commitment to addressing player feedback through Discord and Steam forums. In the few days it’s been live, updates have already been made. It gives me confidence they’re making an effort when it comes to listening to the community.
Overall, “Into the Emberlands” is a delightful journey that captures the essence of exploration and discovery. With its charming visuals, strategic challenges, and immersive worlds, it’s a game that’s sure to leave a lasting impression on players who venture into its enchanting world.
